Katy Perry In Convent Dispute With Nuns

The sisters say they do not want to sell the convent to the singer but a lawsuit claims they do not have the authority to decide.

Katy Perry has become embroiled in a dispute with a group of elderly nuns and the Los Angeles Archdiocese over who owns a hilltop convent she wants to buy.

The Firework singer is named in a recent lawsuit over the scenic property in the Los Feliz neighborhood, overlooking Hollywood.
The row centres on who is authorized to sell the convent.
The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary say the building is theirs and that they have sold it to a local restaurateur, Dana Hollister, who has already moved in.
However, the Los Angeles Archdiocese claims it is responsible for selling the property and plans a $14.5m (£9.25m) deal with another buyer – which the suit says is Perry.

The archdiocese released a statement saying it has taken legal action to prevent Ms Hollister from assuming control of the property, claiming the sale was unauthorized.
Ms Hollister is thought to have paid $15.5m for the property, which she wants to turn into a restaurant and bar.
Sister Rita Callanan reportedly told the LA Times she did not want Perry to buy the house because of her suggestive songs and provocative attire.
“Well, I found Katy Perry and I found her videos … if it’s all right to say, I wasn’t happy with any of it,” she said.
Perry, who is the daughter of a pastor, was named as the highest earning female celebrity earlier this week after earning $135m last year.
Forbes’ list showed she beat Taylor Swift who has hinted at “bad blood” with the fellow pop singer.
Perry, who has toured relentlessly over the last year, was the third highest-earning celebrity overall, behind boxer Floyd Maywhether Jr   and Manny Pacquiao who fought a highly anticipated match in May in Las Vegas.
