Student-Pastor Bags 3 Years Imprisonment For Allege Burglary
An Osogbo Magistrates’ Court in Osun on Friday sentenced a 28-year-old student-pastor, identified as Akintunde Olatunde, to three years imprisonment for burglary.
The magistrate, Mr Olusola Aluko, in his judgment, said the convict who is also a student-pastor at a prayer ministry in Osogbo, should be kept behind bars due to the magnitude of his offence or pay an option of N24, 000-fine.
Insp. Fagboyinbo Abiodun who is the prosecutor had earlier told the court that the convict committed the offence on June 10 at about 5:00 p.m., in Omobolanle area of Osogbo.
The Insp. noted that the convict conspired with others now at large to break into the apartments and shops in the neighborhood where they carted away some household and perishable items.
According to Abiodun, the offence contravened Sections 516, 413, 390, 411 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2003.
The convict pleaded guilty to the 12-count charge preferred against him when his case was called.
