The
Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, on Tuesday paid a visit to the
Oke-Ogun area of the state, where he promised to bring more development
to the area because of the support he enjoyed from the people of the
zone during the last governorship election.
The governor, who led members of his
cabinet on the visit, expressed gratitude to the people of the zone and
assured them that his administration would create a huge impact on the
socio-economic and physical development of the zone during the next
dispensation.
The areas visited included Okeho, Iseyin, Ayetoro, Iwere-Ile and Ilero, Kajola, Iganna and Saki.
He explained that for the first time in
the political history of the state, a party, the All Progressives
Congress, won in nine out of the 10 local government areas that made up
the Oke-Ogun zone.
The governor promised the people that
the APC would not disappoint the electorate who put their trust in him,
pledging that that Oke-Ogun would witness transformation during his
second term in office.
The Vice-Chairman of Saki Parapo, Chief
Samuel Onifade, and the Zonal Chairman of the APC, Chief Sunday Adekola,
reiterated the people’s support for the Ajimobi administration,
promising to continue to aid the governor in his effort to transform the
state.
They also said that the large crowd that welcomed the governor was an attestation to his acceptance in the area.
