A
group, Badagry Change Project, has appealed to the Lagos State
Governor-elect, Akinwunmi Ambode, not to neglect the Badagry area of the
state in its development agenda and political appointments.
The group in an open letter to Ambode on
Monday signed by Mr. Babatunde Olaide-Mesewaku, said the zone had been
sidelined in political appointments in the state.
It urged the governor-elect to consider the area based on the massive votes he got from Badagry in the governorship poll.
The group asked Ambode to support the appointments of a minister and four commissioners from the area.
The letter read, “Reference must be made
to the just concluded general elections in Lagos State where out of the
four local governments in our division only Badagry Local Government
delivered 100 per cent results for both the presidential, National
Assembly, governorship and the State House of Assembly elections.
“In the entire Badagry division with four
federal constituencies it was only Badagry that did not lose to the
opposition. The remaining three were won by the opposition party.”
